Styling: Crops in Winter

MG 0295 zpsryuejxaf Styling: Crops in Winter

Today’s look features this gorgeous modern corset style lace up top. I was first attracted to this design for the beautiful black lace and silver eyelet details. Despite the corset look I’m glad to report that it’s actually super comfortable. The top doesn’t restrict you uncomfortably like a corset does, though it still accentuates the waist. The black crop top has been done before and it’s been done a million different ways. The lace up back and front on this one gives a very elegant feel to an otherwise simple silhouette. I feel like I could wear this top with a long skirt and look a bit fancy, or I could pair it with some shorts for a more casual outfit.

I decided to pair the top with my favorite black velvet bell-bottoms and a big fuzzy cardigan/coat. Though, in certain photos, when my legs are together it almost appears as though I’m wearing some sort of fancy ball gown in the woods. For this look I went with all black with a light lipstick and minimal jewelry. I am also wearing tortoise shell sunglasses but it was hard to catch the color in photos. I kept it pretty minimal because I didn’t want anything to distract from the lovely lacing details on the top. Outfit details and direct links will be listed below.
