Styling: Amethyst

One of my favorite parts about blogging is being able to connect with so many different artists and designers from all over the world who I wouldn’t normally get to meet. This beautiful handmade clutch is by Paola Germar. We were connected through Palamauti by PJV who also sent me the necklace. They feature items by local designers in the Philippines, including Paola who make beautiful art inspired clutch bags. This particular clutch is amethyst, not only is it stunning and a truly one of a kind piece, but it is very well made. I especially love the brass knuckle design, it’s aesthetically gorgeous, but it’s also functional as it makes the clutch really easy to hold on to. I also love that the brass knuckles gives the piece more of an edgy look. I have always been drawn to amethyst and have a lot of pieces scattered throughout my house and jewelry box. So I was very happy to add this one of a kind item to my ever growing little collection.

I decided to pair these two items with a cut out design black dress and shoes to match. I did this to add negative space to compliment the negative space in both the necklace and clutch. My dress has lace straps that can be removed, but I decided to leave them on for this look. I loved the dark pirate theme the straps gave the dress, matched with the classy cut out mary jane style shoes. To be honest this necklace was not exactly my style but it was very well made. The design was truly one of a kind, and the beading work was simply gorgeous. I felt as though it was more of an art piece than just a regular necklace. The clutch however is very much my style, I can’t wait to style it with more looks through summer into fall! Other outfit details will be listed below.
