Every woman has her “go to” outfit, the first items you think to put on when your rushed out the door. Whether its running out to do errands, or hearing about an event last minute and having to throw on a cute outfit and go. All black is what I always seem to choose. One of the few items lacking in my closet was a cute little formal jacket. Structured enough to be formal, but casual enough to wear out. This little black velvet jacket from Vintage World Rocks is so perfect. The cropped sleeves help to add a slight summery vibe to the otherwise very heavy winter piece. It’s quite hard to wear velvet in spring/summer due to the heavy fabric but this jacket was surprisingly just warm enough.
As I’m sure you already know, I am a sucker for anything vintage/velvet, so this coat was just perfect for me. But unfortunately, this piece is one of a kind. The shop I got this from features handpicked vintage items from 1930’s-1980’s, as well as some modern pieces that have a vintage aesthetic. All of their vintage pieces are one of a kind, which I personally love. When you see the same shirt or dress worn everywhere, it begins to lose what once made it special. This is why vintage clothing will always have a special place in my heart, and closet. Other outfit details will be listed below.
