Too often people do not engage in the simple pleasure of reading. Today I am excited to share with you a few thoughts on some of my favorite fashion books. I plan on this being a reoccurring series, with a new post every few months or so with new titles each time. In today’s post I have composed a few quick reviews on three books. I’ve included five photos from each book that feature my favorite various quotes and pages, they help to show the individual styles of the three authors. I think you will see why they are part of my ever growing collection of books. Reviews are below each set of photos.
First is the book “It” by Alexa Chung. This book quickly become one of my favorites for its helpful tips and photo examples. She explains fashion in a way most people don’t see. She talks about fashion through her experience. As well as sharing with her reader various fashion icons and pieces, and incorporating them into her personal style.
Next, is the book “#GIRLBOSS” by the CEO of Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso. Sophia’s story is a bit unconventional but is very helpful nonetheless. She has different tips and personal quotes about how to get into the mindset of a girl boss. She gives advice on lessons she has learned during her journey to becoming successful. None of the tips she gives are cheats or “get rich quick” schemes. Sophia’s advice for being a girl boss- want it and WORK for it.
The last book is called “100 Years of Fashion”. It’s a real favorite of mine! It’s a detailed book, containing many photos, that covers the early 1900’s through the 1990’s and includes all of the different fashion trends from each era. It also explains how those styles have made their way into other generations and continue to influence fashion today.
Super interesting and informative. Thanks so much for posting this!
