Closet Staples: Lace Dresses

A little lace dress from free people is the perfect summer day to night outfit. It’s a very versatile piece that you can throw on quickly for the day and can easily transition into the evening. You can grab pretty much any dress if your in a bit of a rush and still want to look put together. This is why they are the most packed/worn summer travel item as well. The first thing that I loved about this dress is the big cut out detail on the chest. I like that it shows some skin and adds a bit of a feminine touch to an otherwise dark look. The lace is also slightly see-through on top and in the arms, though is solid on the bottom and in the front. The built in lace collar on the dress adds a very romantic 70s vibe to the whole look. This look is very “in” right now, as you’ll see almost everyone in thick 70s velvet chokers lately. I feel like this design could really be dressed up or down quite easily by just changing the accessories and shoes.

I feel as though adding white to this otherwise all black outfit makes it have a much more summery vibe. This little handbag is super functional and also really compact, so it doesn’t take up much room or get in the way. It can also easily transition from day to night as well. The thing I love most about this bag is it comes with a short little chain strap if you want to wear it as a little shoulder or arm bag, as well as a long strap. The long strap is the one I have on, and is the one I prefer for day to day, as it’s more comfortable as a cross-body bag. But if I was going to a nice event I would opt for the smaller chain strap.
