Festival Lookbook 2/3: Crochet Tops

When trying to dress comfortably and keep cool during the hot festival days, next to lace, crochet is your best bet. Crochet items have holes that allow air to flow thru which also adds texture to the garment, creating a pretty pattern. This is why they’re perfect for festivals as the bohemian designs are right on theme. A little crocheted top is one of my favorite pieces to wear because it is thick enough to hold its place while you are dancing and running around, but still breathable so you don’t get too hot. I went with all black in this outfit to keep it pretty simple and then added a pop of color with my bag.…

Festival Lookbook 1/3: Lace Dresses

Danielle Gold DavidTruuu 17 1 Festival Lookbook 1/3: Lace Dresses

At a festival you always want to look fashionable, but more importantly you want to be comfortable. There is a lot of walking/dancing so you’ll want to wear items that are made of a breathable fabric. This is why I love wearing lace dresses to these sort of events as they are the most breathable but always look chic. Lace dresses also never go out of stye so when you find a design you really love, they are usually timeless and can stay in your closet for many years. I went very matchy with this whole look though I should mention that the heel on these shoes are a bit taller than what I might choose to wear to a festival.…

Styling: Velvet Winter Dresses In Spring

fix 1 1 zpshaq5r4et Styling: Velvet Winter Dresses In Spring

As you might’ve already guessed from my blog name; velvet dresses are one of my favorite items to wear! Not only are they super stylish and soft but they always add a level of sophistication and class to the outfit, no matter how you style it. Though the hard part for me about styling velvet dresses is that most of them are made for colder months..and living in Southern California we don’t get that much cold weather and our winters are quite short. But I still love to wear my velvet dresses especially on nights out when they actually do a good job of keeping you warm; unlike most other dresses.…

A must have item in any woman’s wardrobe is a classy black dress. I’m sure most of us already have the LBD (little black dress) but that is usually more in reference to a going out or “party” dress. This black dress is more of a step up, a piece you can wear during the day or on a night out. In my opinion, a classy black dress should preferably hit at least to your knees, while still maintaining a feminine silhouette. This super soft bell sleeve dress from Killstar is the perfect classy black dress for fall and winter. It is long sleeve and comes about to the knees but still shows off the low neckline, waist and feminine bell sleeves.…

GirlBoss Looks: Blazers

chella edit 032 zpsq1c4atcg GirlBoss Looks: Blazers

It was the beautiful mademoiselle Coco Chanel who said, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” which is still one of my favorite quotes. When you dress/feel confident they will remember you. A high quality blazer and “professional” attire go hand and hand in this situation, for this is often when people will not feel their most presentable. I fell in love with this Michael Kors blazer from Fevrie, where they have some great designer brands. I have featured items from them before on my blog, here. The design that the gem/studs create on this blazer is giving me a very Elvis/Bowie vibe for some reason, especially on the back how they all line up down the middle.…
