GirlBoss Looks: Blazers

It was the beautiful mademoiselle Coco Chanel who said, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” which is still one of my favorite quotes. When you dress/feel confident they will remember you. A high quality blazer and “professional” attire go hand and hand in this situation, for this is often when people will not feel their most presentable. I fell in love with this Michael Kors blazer. The design that the gem/studs create on this blazer is giving me a very Elvis/Bowie vibe for some reason, especially on the back how they all line up down the middle. It’s quite good quality and comfortable as well, which is what I always look for in any item.

For this classic look I also had to throw on my favorite timepiece, my Daniel Wellington watch. A good quality watch is a staple in any professional/office type setting. I have already done a little review on this watch in a previous post, here. My go to look for almost any event tends to be all black and then I’ll add textures to my look. This is why I own so many lace, leather, velvet, silk, suede and sheer/crochet pieces. The velvet flares in this outfit make the whole look a bit more funky. Though if you were going for a true professional (office) type look, I would instead pair a straight leg high waist pant with this blazer. I would also opt for stiletto heels if you were to go with a straight leg pant, as this will help to elongate the legs. I will be styling a look similar to this soon, once it cools down a bit and it is comfortable to wear blazers again.
