Closet Staples: Diamond Necklace

They say diamonds are a girls best friend and I think that saying alone should indicate that diamonds are a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. They add a little bling to any outfit without looking too over the top. A delicate little diamond necklace will always look classy and elegant, and more importantly, not come across as too flashy. This is an item you could pair with jeans and a t-shirt on a casual day out running errands, or you could pair it with your nicest evening gown on the way to a big gala event. Either style could work and you would look both put together and not too overly dressed, which can be a fine line to walk with most diamond pieces. This is when the size and shininess of the diamond can vary, as some will draw more attention than others based on the cut and design.

I decided to style two diamond necklaces in outfits with very different necklines. The off the shoulder piece in the second look really accentuates the chest/shoulders and the thick lace choker. While the low v-cut neckline on my lace detailed romper from Motel Rocks helps to draw your attention to the diamond necklace. One piece is a little more bold and shiny, and the other a little more subtle/minimalist. Pairing the necklaces with a choker is a nice way to add more dimension to the neckline while not distracting from the delicate look of the diamonds.
