A few of my casual, and not so casual, daily looks from winter 2016/17. Though I will be starting with a few outfits from December, most of these were taken in 2017 right up until last week. I wanted to wait for the cold weather to be officially over before posting this lookbook, and I wanted to be able to include outfits from the rainy/cold days we had in April. Also, my festival lookbook will be coming end of June!

Info on the different daily looks will be listed below, though I will not be listing every item in each look.…

How to Style: Pieces outside your “fashion comfort zone”

TheVelvetDress Shoot2 00dfs01 zpsi7bvenm3 How to Style: Pieces outside your fashion comfort zone

One of my resolutions for this upcoming year is to wear more color, as I wear a lot of black. So when I saw this beautiful printed dress with velvet floral details from Blackwater Boutique, I knew that it was the perfect piece to start off my color collection. This pale pink is not a color I usually wear. Styling: Flats

D 01 1 1 Styling: Flats

It’s not too often that you’ll find me in flat shoes, but when I have a busy day and am trying to dress casual they are my best option. Though its often hard to find flat shoes that aren’t sneakers but are just as comfortable and durable, both of these looks feature these little black lace up flats by Restricted Shoes. I love the vintage inspired design and the classy bowtie front on these flats. I wore all black in two looks to show a simple day to night transition. Both looks also feature gold hardware which accentuates my new favorite little gold necklace from Muisse Jewelry.…

They say diamonds are a girls best friend and I think that saying alone should indicate that diamonds are a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. They add a little bling to any outfit without looking too over the top. A delicate little diamond necklace will always look classy and elegant, and more importantly, not come across as too flashy. This is an item you could pair with jeans and a t-shirt on a casual day out running errands, or you could pair it with your nicest evening gown on the way to a big gala event. Either style could work and you would look both put together and not too overly dressed, which can be a fine line to walk with most diamond pieces.…

How To Wear: Chokers

TheVelvetDress TheVelvetDress 0002 1 zpsfh2kdrjq How To Wear: Chokers

You’ve probably noticed the choker trend coming in full force for fall. It seems as though every look I see lately has a choker (or several) incorporated into it. Although they have mostly been seen as a fall/winter piece in the past, it’s actually pretty easy to rock a choker with a variety of styles. I have seen them worn with heavier jackets/winter looks to simple summer tank tops and floral dresses. My personal favorite way to style a choker is with a low V-cut neckline. So I decided to pair my favorite thick black velvet choker from Regal Rose with my favorite red dress with velvet floral detailing.…
